And so the hard work begins....

Welcome to my journey of juggling a new addition to our family and working to lose the extra weight I gained along the way.  This isn't about the trials and tribulations of how to handle a new born, but about how I will manage to schedule in my workouts and aim to maintain healthy eating to get back to, or possibly better than, my pre-pregnancy weight and fitness.
Just a brief intro for those of you who don't know me.  My name is Bec and I'm a 32 year old mum of 2, 2 and a half year old Bella and our new addition Brandon.  I've been married to my gorgeous and extremely supportive husband, Brett, for nearly 5 years.  Yes, we are known as the '4 B's'.  My family is my first love and my second love is my job.  I'm a personal trainer and I really believe I have one of the best jobs in the world.  It is my clients that have inspired me to record my weight loss journey as I want them to see that I have to work just as hard as I expect them to, to lose weight and work towards my goals.  Unfortunately just because I'm a personal trainer it doesn't mean the weight will just magically melt away.  Although I do have the advantage of knowing the tricks of the trade when it comes to training smart - not hard, and knowing how to fuel my body to gain results through healthy eating.

Bella loves to join in when I'm doing my "exercises"

It's been 8 weeks since I had Brandon and I'm ready to get serious.  I've adjusted to the lack of sleep, he's slowly settling into a bit of a routine and Brett has been back at work for a couple of weeks so I've had a chance to get used to being home with the children alone.  My journey starts today - Monday 29th August.  I will officially return to work at the start of next year so it gives me 4 months to focus on getting myself back into shape because I know once work comes time will be tight and I will only want to be training for maintenance.  I will be setting goals - long and short term - and will share them with you along the way.  I will also be sharing some of my favourite (and toughest) workouts, training and nutrition tips and motivation hints.  This isn't just for the new mums to follow, but for anyone that has weight to lose (whether it's 5 or 50 kilos), fitness goals to achieve or for anyone that has a general interest in their health and wellbeing.  My first goal this week is to start tracking calories (I will share some pointers in my next post for ways to track) and set some short and long term goals.  I will be weighing in every Monday morning and sharing my ups and downs with you each week.  I encourage anyone that has lost motivation over winter (especially my clients that I have ditched to extend my family lol), anyone that is hoping to include some structured exercise into their daily life or even the seasoned gym junkie to join me on this journey and keep me updated with your own progress as well.
If you're interested in working hard and achieving some of your own goals along with me please introduce yourself and let's get started.....
